The world goes round and round, it never has a perfect ending.

More about College

Each one of those hot pick colleges have a set of amount of students they let in.
Then the number is divided into smaller numbers.
There are set amount of people that can get in from each category.
The categories are divided by race.
For example; if the number was 1000, it might be like 200 Caucasians, 200 Asians, 200 Latino/Hispanic, 200 African American, and 200 other.
They say this is to make the selection nonracist.
Not to be steroptypical, but when this Act was not enforced, a large amount of students getting in good colleges were Asians.
When people see that there are a lot of Asain majority getting in, they think "Why is it all Asians? Are the being racist or something?"
Just because they all scored 2400 on SATs or have good transcripts, it doesn't mean the schools are only choosing them.
Then some people argue that this isn't fair.
"Just because my kid didn't get full scores on SATs, why can't they go to a school they want? "
Uhhhh because your kid isn't the only one that wants to go there, everyone else does too.
Hey those people earned it.
They probably studied their ass off  for those seats.
And then somehow racism gets brought in.
Just because your child is not as hardworking and is lazy, what does this have to do with racism???
Like in the real world of getting jobs.
Two people go for interview.
Their resemes are similar, but Person 1 got more experience, so the company decides to hire Person A  instead of Person B.
Person B can't believe it and just blames the company saying they hired Person A instead of themselves because Person A is caucasian and Person B is african american.
Why is racism brought into everything?!
Weellll back to the main point.
Colleges now decided to split the number of students from each race that they take in .
But actually isnt that more racist than before?
Because if two students have same transcript, they pick you by race; they'll pick the race that isnt in the majority of school population.
Now, race is actually one of the things they consider when looking through applications.
They just dont pick the top 1000 students
They pick the top 200 caucasian, top 200 asian, top 200 african american..etc
So they top black African American student might not even be as good the 200th asian student, but they made it in.
Someone I know; 1600s on SATs, not a lot of extraciricullam activities, normal student & another student had 1600s and also a normal student. Ones mix of egyptian and black, the other is chinese.
Guess who got in?
